How long have you been making videos?
I created my first videos as a child, making skits and music videos on YouTube. I made my first professional video at the age of 14 and dreamed of doing it for a living ever since.
I have never stopped.. I created a feature film whilst at Confetti College in Nottingham and studying film production in London, I stayed down south to work for an award winning marketing agency!
Why do you make videos?
I have been obsessed with the internet since I was very young. As a child discovering YouTube’s first viral videos – I knew I wanted to be a part of this – somehow. I started making embarrassing skits!
When my dad passed away at the age of 11, I created a video for his funeral. The emotional reactions from that day still inspire me. I know how much videos can move people, make people cry, laugh, smile or take action!
Do you pitch video projects to clients?
As a freelancer with no sales team, I don’t always provide big pitch decks. Most video projects are discussed in meetings, emails, whats-app chats or phone calls!
However, sometimes a big video idea (like an advert that requires on-screen talent and multiple locations) requires a brief, plan and/or storyboard.
I usually create what I think is necessary to complete the video project, and I may create a pitch deck/PDF if I have a vision for a project that needs explaining this way.
Can you teach video production or help me with my film?
